Salome Erni
(she/her), *2001 in Switzerland, based in the Netherlands

As a research-based visual artist, curator and writer I explore narratives and collective narrations. Conversations, collaborations and research intertwine in my work that takes shape in (video) essays, books and exhibitions. Often, I take found imagery as a starting point to investigate how the individual relates to larger socio-political power relations and hegemonic narrations. Thereby, I understands my work as explicitly political. It is centered around conversations – conversations as a research-method, but also as encounters with the audience.

I obtained a BA in Photography (KABK, The Hague, 2025) and now study with DAI (ArtEZ, Arnhem) at the intersections of art, activism and curation. Next to my art practice I currently work as a "programma maker" (curator) at the experimental art space Extrapool in Nijmegen with its adjacent publishing house Knust Press. Earlier professional experiences include multiple years of journalistic work and project coordination for a museum.
